Morning Prayer

Spiritual Communion Ordinary Time

We say Morning Prayer every weekday and Spiritual Communion on Sundays.

God our saviour;
Look on this wounded world
In pity and in power;
Hold us fast to your promises of peace
Won for us by your Son,
Our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Please be assured of our prayers at this time, and don’t hesitate to contact us if we can do anything at all to help. Stay safe, With every blessing, Rev’d Diane, And all at St John’s

The readings for Sunday 28th June 2020 are:
Genesis 22:1-14
Romans 6:12-end
Matthew 10:40-end

Tapestry of people

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the sunshine; I must admit that I am finding it a bit too hot, but then I am not a great lover of the heat.

You will receive this as the Church opens for private prayer, the first time on Saturday 27th from 9.30-11.30.
There are very clear guidelines and restrictions that we have to follow but we do hope people will find this useful.

Just as some of us have got used to our services on Zoom – sort of, we still need to refine a bit- things are changing once again; a date of 4th July has been given for churches to be used for worship.

However, while Churches can be open for acts of worship from Saturday 4th July the Bishop is still awaiting the guidelines promised by the government. Once he has them, he will pass them on the clergy and churchwardens, and we will then be able to work out the practicalities for St John's.
So my message is please be patient; we may not be in the building on 5th July - which would be a first Sunday Service – but I will be doing my best!

The worship resources will still be put online and if we are not in church there will still be a zoom service (and if we can work out how to do it we may be able to stream our service from church for people).

This week, via Zoom, we have Sunday 10am Holy Communion, Tuesday 11am Prayer time and Wednesday 8.30pm Compline. Please contact us for Zoom connection details.

Take care and blessings to you all

Romans 8:38,39
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angel nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
