Morning Prayer

Spiritual Communion Easter Season

We say Morning Prayer every weekday and Spiritual Communion on Sundays.

Risen, ascended Lord,
As we rejoice at your triumph,
Fill your Church on earth with power and compassion,
That all who are estranged by sin
May find forgiveness and know your peace,
To the glory of God the Father.

Please be assured of our prayers at this time, and don’t hesitate to contact us if we can do anything at all to help. Stay safe, With every blessing, Rev’d Diane, And all at St John’s

The Gospel reading for Sunday 24th May 2020 is:
John 17: 1-11

Dear Friends,

We continue with the strange way of being Church that has been asked of us for the past couple of months and I know how so many of you are supporting each other and Sarah and I.

Thank you for all that you are doing.

We have no further news about when or how churches might be able to be open; I know how frustrating some of you find it that the building is closed and you are asked not to go in.

Please, do respect that we have to follow the instructions given to us and encourage people to see that the Church is far more than a building. At present I could go in and say prayers and even conduct services from in the Church; I have not moved on that but will be considering it in the next few weeks. However it would mean that only I would be going in to the building.

We have found a sort of rhythm to our worshipping life which seems to be working for now.

I have scheduled a Bible Study on Zoom for Tuesday 26th; the alternating prayer and study sessions are good and allow people to see each other. For details of the Zoom service, please contact me directly.

Please see Sarah’s next Paws for Thought, led by Ralph and Mabel and supported by Sarah.

As we are still in the Easter Season, please use the Spiritual Communion Liturgy for the Easter Season.

Next Sunday is Pentecost, so the liturgy will change.

Remember that you can contact me at any time, details below, and I love to hear from you all.
